Some of most common gynecological conditions that we see and treat are detailed below to help you understand your symptoms and hopefully make you feel a more confident in where to turn.

1- MENSTRUAL DISORDERS

GOOD BYE DISTURBANCES!

Menstrual disorders range from having no periods at all or very infrequent periods through to excessively heavy, prolonged and painful periods. There are no absolute definitions of the heaviness or painfulness of periods and everyone experiences them differently. If your periods are of concern to you, or you are missing time at school or work, or you are unable to participate in social activities that you want to do, then these are some good indications that you should see a gynecologist to discuss the situation further.

The causes of menstrual disorders include hormonal issues, fibroids, polyps, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and endometriosis. You may need some blood tests, an ultrasound scan or surgery to identify the cause. Treatments range from the pill and Mirena IUCD, to surgery such as laparoscopy or hysteroscopy.

2- UTERINE PROBLEMS

NO MORE PAIN…

Conditions affecting the uterus or any other part of your reproductive system are referred to as uterine problems. Some common uterine problems include uterine fibroids, endometriosis, uterine prolapse and uterine tuberculosis. Uterine problems may be treated using a combination of medication (including hormones), exercises and surgery such as hysterectomy, myomectomy. For some other conditions, ‘watchful waiting’ may be recommended which means that no treatment is provided, but you will have to visit your doctor regularly to keep track of your condition and track symptoms.

At Al-Mahmoud Medical Center, we understand the pain and discomfort caused by a uterine problem. So we equipped ourselves very well with all the necessary infrastructure, amenities and technology to effectively diagnose and treat any uterine problem. Our expert team of gynecologists and support staff also will take every possible measure to provide you all the needed superior quality care.

3- PERIMENOPAUSE AND MENOPAUSE ISSUES

STRUGGLING IS OVER!

Menopause is that phase in a woman’s life when her periods stop and is confirmed when a woman has not had a period for 12 consecutive months. Whereas Perimenopause is the transition from the reproductive years to menopause. Menopause is a natural process and occurs after the age of 45 ending fertility, however, you can still have a healthy sexual life after menopause.

At Al-Mahmoud Medical Center we understand that each woman has a different journey through menopause. Some fly through with few or mild symptoms like night sweats, mood swings, low sex drive, fatigue, insomnia, hard time concentrating and/or difficulty with memory while others have severe hot flashes that make it hard to get through the day. You don’t need to struggle with menopause symptoms, our team is here to develop a customized treatment plan based on the severity of your symptoms. For mild symptoms, they may suggest some lifestyle tips to manage the discomfort.

4- VAGINAL INFECTIONS AND IRRITATION

EXPERIENCING VAGINAL ITCHING?

Do you have itchiness, inflammation, burning, discharge and/or a fishy odor? These symptoms may mean you have some sort of a vaginal infection!

Vaginal infections are common conditions that women face, and it is likely that most women will experience at least one or the other at some point in their lives. Most vaginal infections are not serious and can be treated quickly with the help of your gynecologist. Common causes of vaginal infections include Bacterial infections which occurs when the normal balance of healthy bacteria is thrown off and instead “bad” bacteria begin growing in your vagina, Yeast infections caused by a fungus called “Candida albicans”, Trichomoniasis caused by a protozoan parasite that can be contracted through sexual intercourse, Vaginal atrophy that occurs during menopause or during other times in your life when your estrogen levels decline or Irritants like Soaps, body washes, perfumes…

Diagnosing common vaginal infections requires a detailed patient history and an individualized treatment plan. At Al-Mahmoud Medical Center we work with each patient to understand their symptoms while keeping patient privacy at the forefront of our care. Make an appointment NOW with one of our gynecologists if you are experiencing any of the symptoms of common vaginal infections.
