What to expect during the application?

Upon arrival to your appointment your doctor will inject a local anaesthetic into the treatment area before using the Profound device to manage comfort then the profound system starts penetrating your skin at a precise depth using tiny needles, before momentarily releasing a burst of radiofrequency energy (heat) exactly where the energy being delivered is most beneficial. How do you prepare?

If you are going to undergo a Profound treatment it is important to be sure to: hydrate sufficiently (at least 2 litters of fluid daily for one week prior to treatment), eat a substantial meal pre-treatment, avoid any NSAIDS for 14 days prior to treatment to decrease the risk of bruising. If you have a history of cold sores you may need to be pretreated with an antiviral medication. Discontinue skin irritants for a minimum of 3-5 days prior to treatment. Avoid as much as possible prolonged sun exposure

How long does a Profound baby-face treatment take?

The process is usually performed in 45 minutes or less.

Post treatment instructions

Immediately post treatment the treated area will appear edematous and red. Pin-point ecchymosis from microneedle insertions may also be noticed from the local anesthesia injection points. Immediately following treatment, ice compress should be used for the first 45 minutes. For the next 24 hours, continue with cold compress at 20 minutes on – 20 minutes off intervals. It is recommended to sleep with head elevated for the first 2-3 nights post Profound treatment. Redness typically resolves within 1-2 days of treatment.

How many treatments are required?

Profound produces dramatic results in a single treatment. For optimum results, it is recommended that you receive a second Profound treatment at six months with annual maintenance treatments thereafter.
